Max received his doctoral degree in Geological Oceanography in September 2019 under the supervision of Dr. S. Adam Soule. His thesis title is: Geophysical and Geochemical Constraints on Submarine Volcanic Processes

  Max was an outstanding behind-the-scenes leader for the Joint Program; the type of person truly deserving of recognition.
• Max served as webmaster for the majority of his time in the program and was a JP Student Rep twice. He was also involved in the writing team for the student letter on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Outside of "official" graduate program things, Max was a warm and compassionate presence.
• Max for his tireless commitment to the JP Reps by serving multiple times, and his work to keep the website running even when he wasn't on the Reps.
