EeShan received his doctoral degree in Mechanical and Oceanographic Engineering in September 2021 under the supervision of Dr. Henrik Schmidt. His title is: A Virtual Ocean Framework for Environmentally Adaptive, Embedded Acoustic Navigation on Autonomous Underwater

This year’s recipient of the Pantelyev Award is known for being kind, thoughtful and energetic, as well as showing a particular talent for making people feel comfortable and letting people know that their opinions were valued. The recipient has made strong contributions to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion within our institutions, and the Joint Program as a founder of JP ASK, a JP Rep, a member of the Graduate Student Council, and even an organizer of some much-beloved cookie swaps. He’s been a valued TA and informal peer mentor.
