Child Care Subsidy

WHOI Child Care Subsidy Policy

Joint Program students are eligible to participate in WHOI’s Child Care Subsidy program provided through the Academic Programs Office.  Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if childcare at MIT or WHOI is more appropriate.

The subsidy is $2.00 per daycare hour per dependent that the student and spouse (if married) work, up to an annual maximum of $2,000 per dependent.  To qualify for this benefit, the student must meet the following criteria:

- Be in residence at WHOI
- Dependent child(ren) must be under age 13 or a legal dependent of any age

If you are interested in signing up for this benefit, please contact Julia Westwater in the Academic Programs Office at x3379 to explain the details and provide you with the appropriate forms.  For more information about this benefit, please contact Michelle Slattery at x2602 in Human Resources.

*Please note a new enrollment form must be submitted during WHOI's Open Enrollment season each year.
