Bermuda Institute for Ocean Sciences
The MIT-WHOI Joint Program Office has funds to support student research at the Bermuda Institute for Ocean Sciences (BIOS). The money was donated by Mr. Arch Scurlock, President of Research Industries, Inc. in Alexandria, VA.
Funding covers travel to Bermuda, accommodations, and meals at the BIOS.
To access these funds, please submit:
- a written proposal of your plans including your scientific objectives, the long-term potential funding, and a budget;
- a letter from your advisor supporting your proposal
- a cover letter addressed to the MIT Director of the Joint Program.
Proposals are reviewed by both Directors of the Joint Program and the Director of the BIOS. Please allow 2-3 weeks for approvals to be granted.
Once the research has been conducted, you must write a summary for the Joint Program Directors and the Director of the BIOS.
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact the MIT Joint Program Administrator.
